The Zen master was tending his garden when a young student approached him.
“Master,” the student said, “There is a new disciple at the gates. He requires guidance. Can you see him?”
“First,” said the master, “I must tend the garden. Have him wait.”
“But, master,” said the student, “surely the plants can wait more easily than the disciple.”
The master stared at the student. He did not blink. He did not move. The student felt his mind begin to crack.
“What are you doing to me?” he wanted to ask, but no words would come out.
“You DARE meddle with the powers of ZEN?!” the master screamed and he flung the student across the garden WITH HIS MIND!!
This is the story the student told at the bar the next night.
“I heard you were kicked out for stealing from the collection box.”
“Whatever. Gimme another beer.”
*NOTE – the Zen garden did not have a collection box. Collection boxes are only located in the big Zen building called the “Zen Shack” or “Zen Manse.”
